Having a history of quitting smoking can help create a pathway toward finding better methods this time. Knowledge of what motivates you and what doesn’t in the past brings more motivation to avoid the same old pitfalls.
Any particular trigger you had before that made you go back to smoking can now get better scoped out so you’re better sure what to avoid. You’ll know the places to avoid, any objects to hide, and any media bringing this trigger.
Most of all, you’ll understand how to avoid stress, which can easily set you off into smoking again. Despite stress being impossible to avoid completely, at least you can make deliberate attempts to limit it as much as possible.
4. Gaining Stronger Support From Family and Friends
After several failed attempts at quitting smoking, your family and friends might have given up on giving you any more support. You need to reinforce their commitment to help you through before you can become completely ready to stop your smoking habit.
Without them, there isn’t any way you’ll be able to avoid the usual triggers. By getting into a frame of mind through the above steps, they’ll know you’re finally serious about it. When you both get serious, the chances of success are all the greater.
